The absolute Highness is for Allah only and it is from all points of view. Some of the verses in which this beautiful name of Allah is mentioned are here in the form of their English translation:
Al-Baqarah, verse 255;
255. Allah — there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

Surah Al-Hajj 62:
62. That is because Allah is the Truth, and that which they call upon other than Him is falsehood, and because Allah is the Most High, the Grand.
Surah Sabaa 23:
23 And intercession does not benefit with Him except for the one whom He permits. [And those wait] until, when terror is removed from their hearts, they will say [to one another], “What has your Lord said?” They will say, “The truth.” And He is the Most High, the Grand.

Allah is very high from all points of view. A few points are mentioned here:
Personally; Although Allah is free from place and time so that Allah is everywhere at all times due to Allah’s knowledge and power!!! Yet for our understanding, Allah has fixed a place and has told us in the Holy Quraan that Allah’s Thrown is above the 7 heavens and Allah is above the Thrown. Read the translation of the following verses:
Surah Al-Mulk 16, 17;
16. Do you feel secure that He (Allah), Who is over the heaven, will not cause the earth to swallow you, then behold it shakes (as in an earthquake)?
17. Or do you feel secure that He (Allah), Who is over the heaven, will not send against you a storm of stones? Then you shall know how (terrible) has been My Warning?
Surah Taha 5;
5. The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty).

Allah is very High in HIS qualities and Attributes — — none has qualities like HIM. Even no one can reach the height of a single quality of Allah.
Allah’s Highness is absolute in subjugating (overpowering) others. All others are Allah’s creation and they all submit to Allah willingly or unwillingly as everything is in Allah’s Control. So nothing can move or remain stationary without Allah’s permission. What Allah wills, happens and what Allah wills not, doesn’t happen.
Allah’s Highness over the creation is proved in many ways. The Holy Quraan has got more than a thousand proofs of the Highness of Allah. A few are here:
English translation of the verses of;
Surah Al-An’aam18;
18. And He is the Irresistible (Omnipotent), above His slaves, and He is the All-Wise, Well-Acquainted with all things.

Allah Commands from above and du’aa, requests and actions of the slaves climb up to Allah All-Mighty from below. See the translation of the following verses of the Holy Quraan:
Surah Al-Sajdah (As-sajdah) 5;
5. He arranges [each] matter from the heaven to the earth; then it will ascend to Him in a Day, the extent of which is a thousand years of those which you count.
Surah Al-Ma’arij, 4;
4. The angels and the Ruh [Jibra-eel (Gabriel)] ascend to Him in a Day the measure where of is fifty thousand years,
Surah Faatir 10;
10. If any do seek for glory and power, -to Allah belong all glory and power. To Him ascend (all) Words of Purity: It is He Who exalts each Deed of Righteousness. Those that lay Plots of Evil,- for them is a Penalty terrible; and the plotting of such will perish.

From Abu Hurairah, he said: The Prophet sall Allaahu’ alaihi wa sallam said: “Whoever gives sadaqah worth a palm date from the good business results (halal)-while nothing will ever ascend to God except the clean (halaal), Allah will accept it with His Right Hand, then Allah takes care for it for the giver as anyone of you maintain a young colt, so the sadaqa (charity) increases until it becomes like a mountain “.

[The Hadeeth means that: 1.To Allah rise only clean (lawful) things/deeds. 2. Allah accepts it and increases it for the giver of this charity. 3. It is given justly, i.e. according to the status of the giver, so if he can give only one date and Allah knows his status, then Allah accepts it and increases it for him in reward which can be as much as a mountain, reward only for one date. The Holy Quraan came down from Allah and the Prophet Eesa (Allah’s Peace and Blessings be upon him) was lifted up to heaven by the Command of Allah.
Due to faith in this Attribute of Allah All-Mighty we, Muslims, become humble and low in front of Allah. We will stand for worship with great respect and fear of Allah believing that Allah is very High, above any defect or fault. We will keep far away from any type of shirk (associating anyone with Allah), and we shall make our worship very pure for Allah. Thus we will be, insha Allah, successful.
